1.5-generation Korean-American, unapologetic foodie, Harvard alum, and constant daydreamer.
You know that question, “If you could do anything and knew you wouldn’t fail, what would you do?” For me, the answer has always been writing a book. Ever since I was little.
But for years, I was afraid it would fail. I kept waiting for some kind of external validation like from an agent or publisher—just to make it feel legitimate. Every rejection letter felt like confirmation that I just wasn’t good enough to be a writer.
So, like many do, I took the practical path: went to college, got a master’s degree, landed a job, worked hard for promotions. I even started a food blog. But even after checking every box my family told me were “accomplishments,” I couldn’t shake the quiet frustration that came with it. What they saw as success didn’t feel like it to me.
It took me nearly 20 years to realize that the real question wasn’t what I'd do if I couldn’t fail. It was what I'd do, even if I could still fail.
Choosing to independently publish this book is my ultimate leap. I’m so grateful you’re here to see it take flight.
